The company, "Meta", which owns the "Facebook" platform, announced the launch of a new feature to support users of the "WhatsApp" application, in an attempt to provide continuous communication if its services are blocked or disabled.

The company said that it "put power in the hands of the people" in the event of an internet shutdown, as the application allows the implementation of a proxy service with the ability to connect to WhatsApp through servers set up by volunteers and organizations around the world.

In addition, WhatsApp encourages its users to help set up proxy servers in areas that face online scrutiny and bans.

The company confirmed that it continues to protect communications through end-to-end encryption, ensuring that it remains secure and invisible to anyone in between.
