The development team at Dimfrost Studios has officially announced their platform horror game Bramble: The Mountain King here at IGN Expo. You can watch the tension-filled first trailer below.
Bramble is an adventure-horror game starring two brothers who sneak out of their house one night into a nearby forest. Things go wrong when they come across a new world called Bramble that's full of strange creatures, some friendly and some not so. Things take a darker turn when the boy's sister is kidnapped.
The gameplay is reminiscent of side-scrolling adventure games like Limbo and Little Nightmares. But Dimfrost says Bramble will also be filled with "David vs Goliath"-style bosses and lush environments inspired by Norse fairy tales.
The younger brother is the shyest of them all, and it will take a lot of courage to take on Bramble and save his sister. Especially in a dark fantasy world.
Dimfrost Studio was founded by four friends who work out of the same apartment. The studio burst onto the scene in 2018 after posting a video of a game experience called Vaesen. The positive feedback allowed the team to continue work on the project that eventually became Bramble: The Mountain King.
A release date for Bramble: The Mountain King has not been revealed except for the 2022 window, nor even what platforms it will be available on.
