The game's graphics are generally pretty, with plenty of detail, especially the characters' faces and dramatic lighting. The cinematic direction is also generally good with appropriate music.

The gameplay consists of several elements including collecting clues, collecting tarot cards that give you some hints, there are moments when you need to press a direction at the correct time or quickly press the X button to determine the fate of the character and also moments when you need to hold your breath. Finally there are limited moments when you use the weapon.

As a game of choices, there are choices in dialogues and situations that determine the path of the characters, and The Quarry shows you that by saying that the path has changed.

There are 9 main characters and you switch control from one character to another automatically depending on the course of the story. The characters are inspired by teen horror movies and are the best elements of the game with different personalities and good dialogues. The game is longer than the developer's previous games and starts slowly to build up the characters and their relationships.

The story is generally similar to slasher movies, although it usually has some plots and of course several paths and different endings, and any of the main characters can die. The game is aimed at fans of horror films as well as cinematic games.

You can play the game alone or cooperatively on the same device, as well as there is a Movie Mode that shows the game as if it were a movie after you specify the skills and character of each character. I found this mode good after finishing the game to see different results.

Negatives

Walking in The Quarry is slow even with the sprint button pressed and makes exploration tedious, especially with the robotic character movement and barriers everywhere.

Some options seem random in their results and sometimes even the opposite of what you might think. As well as some moments that feel like you're choosing, but are imposed on you unconvincingly, which reduces the game's believability.
