Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are preparing the ultimate outer space adventure with Star Wars Outlaws, and we recently got more details on the size of the game's planets, and how they're designed.

Creative Director Julian Gerighty shared some new details regarding the Star Wars Outlaws project in the latest issue of Edge magazine, confirming that every planet in the game is big enough to traverse - even with high-speed vehicles - and the size of one planet could be equivalent to two or three regions in Assassin's. Creed: Odyssey.

Another thing Gerighty emphasized is that each location is "handcrafted" and that the studio didn't procedurally generate an entire planet.

Additional details revealed are explained in full below:

Players will not have "total freedom" in terms of travel, you will not be able to fly freely over the planet, and there will be specific areas for landing and take off.

Players can direct Nix (the space companion of main character Vass) to attack enemies, activate hard-to-reach buttons, distractions, and pick up heavy weapons from downed enemies.

Nix has been likened to the characters Elizabeth from BioShock Infinite and BD-1 from Star Wars Jedi.

Each planet is designed to be large enough that exploration feels like a journey even on a fast-moving craft.

It is noteworthy that Star Wars Outlaws is coming in 2024 for the PS5, Xbox Series and PC platforms.
