Earth's Shadow is a third-person dungeon crawler set in the year 3081 on the planet Sombra; A faraway alien planet where legends of valuable relics surround this dark world, beckoning greedy and brave explorers looking for a bright future... but who end up uncovering a darker past. Working a dead end job... Alexi-Ru, a cyborg CSP (Freight Ship Pilot), tends to fill the void in his boring flying job by day dreaming about the mysterious stories surrounding the planet Sumbra, also known as Earth's Shadow. In the year 3081, the original Earth and its galaxy died out for centuries, and although there were a few humans, they were colonized in distant sectors... The legacy of Earth has not been forgotten and some have even referred to Sombra, as Earth's shadow. Fascinated by Earth's history, Alexi-Ru often finds himself flying millions of light clicks away with his natural charge only to speed up the mysterious planet, hoping to catch a glimpse of something on the alien surface via radar that might force it to slow down or perhaps stop. In the end, Alexi-Ru's curiosity is justified when one night, while passing the minor planet, his ship encounters a malfunction, forcing him to crash-land on the surface he had dreamed of so much on previous voyages. Remembering his attention just before the impending crash, Alexi-Ru focused on an unshakable book, hurled from a cabin during re-entry into the violent atmosphere, titled… “When Day Dreams Turn to Nightmares” “It doesn't mean anything,” Alexi-Ru murmurs, Trying to reassure himself he arms himself with a semi-automatic Tec-9000 and sets off to explore... Earth's Shadow.
