Metro Exodus is a post-apocalyptic road trip through Russia, which has been hit by a nuclear disaster and has become a wasteland. Even with blue skies and a few things to get to clear the air of this dead world, staying alive is still a daily struggle in the world of Metro. After taking the game away from the dark tunnels to the surface of Moscow trying to survive, going into the unknown and forcing you to stop at stations where you do not want to stop, the developer studio of the game Metro Exodus has created an interactive and unforgettable adventure that consists of happiness through discovering the game areas and walking inside the cities, And sadness over the chances of survival that will never be compensated, while hope continues for a better future.

Moreover, one can call Metro Exodus the distorting mirror that reveals to us the worst sins of the human race, through the spirit of cities that still exist despite the destruction.

Metro Exodus game review - the beginning!
Using your primary mode of transportation in Metro Exodus, you'll be taken by an old Soviet-era steam train called the Aurora (Аврора) that serves as a mobile base for players. The game begins in familiar surroundings; The shattered, radioactive ruins of Moscow and the maze of tunnels beneath. It won't be long before you see the twilight from the crumbling ruins of the capital, and along the Volga into the cold countryside. In general, this is the beginning and your first look at the open world that Exodus will present to you, which consists of several large self-contained areas, rather than one continuous extension.

Whereas previous Metro games took place in the underground rail system, this time Metro Exodus takes players to the surface where protagonist Artyom and his fellow Spartan soldiers – including his wife Anna and father Miller – plot a set path across radioactive Russia aboard the Aurora train. . Their journey begins during the spring and extends into the depths of winter, and each season the game takes us to a whole new area.

There are many large maps in the game, we are talking about the Volga River and the Caspian Sea, which is the largest inland body of water in the world, these maps are full of side objects, and there are also autumnal taiga forests that look like a sightseeing tour with impressive graphics. The game can be at its best when you tend to the general landscapes you see on your own, or while exploring a post-apocalyptic wilderness, these are beautifully drawn places that feel like they crept into the game nicely, since you won't see these views inside cities, you can say Metro Exodus's ability to do both between ruined cities and beautiful nature is its best.

Metro Exodus looks like a unique simulation and an improved version of Fallout, there are interesting maps that you can explore, while a special effort has been made by the developer studio to make these areas exciting for players, without straying from the main story of the game that will not push players to explore all corner of the map. This is what distinguishes open world games, which fall within the players' options to stop or continue.

A lot has changed to create the best version of Metro
In my opinion, Exodus is the best Metro game ever. There is a mixture of huge areas to explore within the large map that the game offers, and each of these areas has a unique charm that gives players a look at what it might be like after the apocalypse. On the story front, there are great feelings expressed in the way you interact with the world as you explore the stories buried beneath the ruins. And speaking of the story, even though it's going to sound a little silly at first; However, it completely adapts after a while to the characters and the narrative that it will continue with.

Previously, the Metro series did not present this distinctive storytelling, as is the case with Exodus, and although the game did not stray far from its core content, the developer studio 4A Games outdid itself, and provided fans of the series with a distinguished title that was worth the wait.

And the fast-paced combat type can be a good thing in the game, especially when you start modifying weapons, turning mini-guns into weapons of mass destruction. But whether you're fighting mutants or humans, the AI isn't very sharp or tough, which might make the combat in this game not the best, while constantly scavenging for ammo will be a chore. As a matter of fact, the weapons look great this time around, there are some special systems in the way the weapons work such as the ability where you can strip the enemy's weapons and attach the parts that were taken to the weapons you have.

But despite the lack of combat and not much interest in it, one thing that makes Metro Exodus special is the story and the journey that will accompany this story. After freeing the game from the tunnels and out onto the roof, the art team inside 4A Games managed to do an amazing job. The artistic landscapes that you will see during your long journey will always be amazing and beautiful as well. Many games have tried to present the world after nuclear war, but there is something special about Metro Exodus that gave us the real concept, and the scary feeling about these wars.
